FAQs About Our Indy 500 Ticket Packages

Start your engines for an incredible Memorial Day Weekend!

Start your engines — the Indianapolis 500 will be here before you know it! Whether you’re traveling with us this year or are interested in booking one of our Indy 500 ticket packages for a future race, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about experiencing this historic event with Superior Executive Services.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our Indy 500 ticket packages:

Q: What’s included in an Indy 500 ticket package?

A: The price of our Indy 500 ticket packages varies depending on your unique group and interests! Once we understand your particular needs, any add-on excursions you’d like to include, and the size of your group, we can give you a more accurate idea of price.

There are also a number of pre-race day activities we can arrange admission to, such as the popular Carb Day. Historically, Carb Day was the final day teams could tune their carburetors in race conditions, and while carburetors haven’t been used in the race since 1963, the name “Carb Day” remains; it’s the final opportunity for racers to practice before the big day.

Regardless of your budget, you can always reach out to our team and ask for a quote!

Q: When should we book the trip?

A: The sooner, the better, as our Indy 500 ticket packages are perhaps the most popular of our racing events of the year. Ideally, you should book six or seven months prior, but don’t worry if you’re not quite within that window. Thanks to our team’s experience and industry connections, we’re able to secure ticket packages that aren’t available to the public.

Q: Where will we stay?

A: With Indianapolis being a fairly large Midwestern city, there are many hotels at a variety of price points just a short drive from the motor speedway. If yours is a larger group, then renting a private home might be a better option. Wherever you prefer to stay, our Superior team will work tirelessly to find the perfect accommodations for your group!

Q: What else can we do before or after race day?

A: Chances are you’ll be in town for more than just one day, and we can create a unique itinerary to include any number of activities to suit your group — a round of golf, a chef-curated tasting menu, or a spa afternoon are all great options.

If you’re traveling with little ones, the Indianapolis Zoo and the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis are great attractions. We also recommend visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum to learn the history behind one of the world’s largest racing events. We can also reserve luxury dining options or other experiences around the Indianapolis area.

If you’re attending the Masters, it’s important to adhere to Augusta National’s rules and customs.

The Superior First-Timers’ Guide to Attending the Masters

Find everything you need to know about attending this historic event here!

The Masters is arguably the most well-known and loved golf event in the PGA tour (and for a good reason). From its stately, manicured greens, prestigious clubhouse, and time-honored traditions, there’s a lot to learn, explore, and love about this event! Attending the Masters is an experience you won’t soon forget, but it can be a lot to take in if this is your first time in Augusta.

Whether you’re traveling with our Superior team or not, here are some of our do’s, don’ts, and must-try events in Georgia to get ready for this year’s event!

Leave the cell phones at home!

This may come as a surprise to first-time Masters attendees, but cell phones, pagers, and cameras are strictly forbidden on tournament days. Penalties for violating this rule are severe, and you’ll be removed and banned from the grounds. That’s not an ideal way of attending the Masters for this first time! Instead, we recommend you leave your phone in your hotel or home rental, so there’s no chance of accidental mistakes.

Make sure to take a photo in front of the clubhouse

The exception to the rule above is to take a picture in front of the clubhouse, by the Augusta flag flowerbed. This is one of the only spots you’ll be able to capture a photo memory of your time at the Masters, so make sure you grab one! Masters personnel will take your photograph with their devices, and you’ll be able to access it later.

Try one of the famous pimento cheese sandwiches

Even with your luxury VIP hospitality badge, if you’re a die-hard Masters fan, you may want to pop down to the general course admission for a pimento cheese sandwich. These are just about as classic as the green jackets themselves, and sticking with tradition, they’re still only $1.50.

The rest of the time, you’ll have access to Club Magnolia, which hosts the best luxury food and beverage options on the grounds. Make sure to explore these chef-curated meal options as they’re sure to impress!

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes

A day at the Masters can be a long day, and you’ll want to be as comfortable as possible! Dress comfortably but nicely, and make sure you bring a pair of shoes that can handle some walking as you meander around the grounds and course. There is a lot to explore, and the steps can add up quickly!

For more tips on what to pack for a trip to a golf tournament, check out this blog post.

Don’t run or move chairs

Another key Masters rule for everyone attending the tournament is to never run and to never move other’s chairs, even if no one is sitting in them. It’s yet another time-honored tradition that is observed very carefully. If you’re sitting in the clubhouse or designated seating, this may not impact your visit, but it’s crucial to be civil, courteous, and observe the traditions of Augusta National!

Bring a few key items for comfort

When attending the Masters for the first time (or any time you end up going to Augusta!), bringing a few key items for comfort can really elevate your experience. Make sure you wear or bring sunscreen to prevent any unwanted and painful sunburns. You may also want to bring a hat, visor, or sunglasses to keep the sun off of your face as well.

Another good idea is to bring a pair of binoculars so you can see action on a few different holes during the day without having to move around!

Keys to attending the Masters

Essentially, when you’re at Augusta National, it boils down to being respectful, honoring the traditions, and having a great time watching the most famous golf event in the world! If you want to do a little more reading before you attend the Masters, check out our Masters FAQs here, or read more of our Masters tips here.

The Buffalo Bayou is a 52-mile waterway that runs through Houston, and taking a boat tour is a great way to see the city from a different perspective. You can take a public tour or rent a kayak or canoe and explore the bayou on your own.

Some local favorites include barbecue from places like Gatlin’s BBQ and Killen’s BBQ in Pearland, Tex-Mex from restaurants like Ninfa’s and El Tiempo, and seafood from spots like 1751 Sea and Bar and La Fisheria.

Knowing what to bring to an F1 race can save you a lot of headaches once you’re at the event.

What to Bring to an F1 Race

Pack for one of our world-class racing experiences with this handy list!

Whether you’re an F1 pro or a first-time event attendee, there is a ton to see, try, and experience at a Formula 1 race! From the high adrenaline of each lap to paddock walks, celeb meet and greets, and more, there are a lot of different activities to prepare for. Because of that, it can be easy to over- or under-pack when it comes to deciding what to bring to an F1 race.

To help you pack the essentials for your luxury F1 travel experience, we’ve compiled a list of the must-haves for your trip. If you have any other questions about your particular Formula 1 package booked through Superior Executive Services, let our team know, and we’ll be sure to help you!

Here’s our list of what to bring to an F1 race:

  1. Sunscreen
  2. Small, clear bag for personal items
  3. Camera and/or portable charger
  4. Umbrella/poncho
  5. Comfortable shoes
  6. Tickets and other event passes

Let’s race through these items to get you packed and ready for your F1 event!

Sunscreen

Many F1 events are held in warm and sunny climates (like AustinMiami, and Las Vegas), so ensuring you have protection from the sun is essential. Even if most of your Formula 1 time will be spent under an awning or on a private balcony, having sunscreen to apply will help prevent any painful sunburns. Plus, you may decide to stroll down near the track, grandstands, or through the paddock, which may not be covered. Because of that, sunscreen is an essential suggestion on our list of what to bring to an F1 race!

Small, clear bag for personal items

If you want to bring a small bag or pouch for your items (like your phone, sunscreen, wallet, and more), it may be a smart idea to bring it in a clear bag. Checking the event’s bag policies is always a good standard practice to speed up the entry process and to make sure all your items are allowed to pass through security.

Camera and/or portable charger

While most of our phones now have excellent cameras on them, if you want to capture truly memorable photos of these high-speed machines, you may want to consider bringing a specialized camera, or at least a camera that can capture the fast speeds of the F1 cars. If you want sharp, clear images, a camera that can take photos at a high shutter speed is the way to go!

If you want some slower-paced images (for example, some pictures with the celeb meet and greets or of the cars waiting in the paddock), your phone’s camera should suffice. And it’s always a smart idea to bring a portable battery to charge your phone if you plan on capturing a lot of photos for future memories!

Umbrella/poncho

In case there’s any unexpected rain (or if rain is in the forecast), bringing in a small umbrella or waterproof poncho is a great idea. More than likely, your VIP F1 tickets will have a covered shelter you can go to and get dry, but if you want to stay in the middle of the action and brave the weather, it’s nice to have something to keep the rain off!

Comfortable shoes

This is another key piece on what to bring to an F1 race: comfy shoes! You’ll be doing some walking between your ground transportation, grandstand, paddock, hospitality location, and where you decide to watch the race. It may not be a marathon, but bringing new shoes you still need to break in may not be the most comfortable.

Tickets and other event passes

This may be the most important thing to bring to an F1 race! You’ll want to make sure you have any paper/physical tickets you may need or digital tickets downloaded and ready to go on your device. It takes the stress out of worrying if the process will go smoothly! With Superior, we’ll make sure you have your tickets ready for your VIP Formula 1 experience.

Formula 1 is such a fast-paced, high-adrenaline sport to watch, and it’s essential to be prepared for any situations that may come up. By following our guide on what to bring to an F1 race, you’ll be sure to have an amazing and memorable time. If you’re traveling with Superior, our team is ready to handle any issues that may arise, so all you have to focus on is having fun!

If you’re not traveling to a Formula 1 race this year, you can still check out these fun facts about F1 racing, or see our full lineup of car racing travel packages so you can book yours for next year!

These famous cocktails are associated with events like the Kentucky Derby and Masters Tournament.

5 Famous Cocktails to Try on Your Superior Travel Experience

Kick back and relax with one of these historic drinks.

It’s no secret that we enjoy a refreshing cocktail or two while traveling. After all, there’s a reason why so many of our Superior Executive Services travel experiences come with a top-shelf open bar package!

But for some of our events, there’s a famous cocktail paired with the festivities that you simply have to try when you’re there. How many of these signature recipes have you tasted?

  1. Mint Julep – The Kentucky Derby
  2. Black-Eyed Susan – The Preakness Stakes
  3. Belmont Jewel – The Belmont Stakes
  4. Azalea – The Masters Tournament
  5. Pit Lane Lemonade – The Indianapolis 500

Read on to learn how to make each of these famous cocktails, and how you can enjoy them at their accompanying event!

Mint Julep – The Kentucky Derby

We’d argue that the mint julep is the most famous cocktail in sports, since it’s hard to mention the Kentucky Derby without picturing this iconic (and historic — its roots date back to the 1700s) drink. In fact, it’s estimated that around 120,000 of these refreshing cocktails are sold each Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs!

The official recipe from the Kentucky Derby website calls for two ounces of Woodford Reserve bourbon, half an ounce of simple syrup, three fresh mint leaves, and crushed ice. To make one, you’ll express the mint and rub the oils around in your glass. Then add the syrup, bourbon, and ice, give it a stir, and garnish with more ice and fresh mint.

If you want to enjoy one of your own while taking in “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports,” there’s still time to book one of our 2023 Kentucky Derby travel packages!

Black-Eyed Susan – The Preakness Stakes

Moving right along through the Triple Crown races, the Preakness Stakes has its own signature drink as well — the Black-Eyed Susan. While maybe not as iconic as its Kentucky cousin, this drink is just as refreshing!

To mix one up, you’ll combine one ounce of bourbon, one ounce of vodka, one ounce of peach schnapps, two ounces of orange juice, and two ounces of sour mix in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Give it a shake, then strain it out over crushed ice in a tall class. Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry (the “black eye” the drink is known for) and enjoy!

Check out our Preakness Stakes travel packages and reserve your spot to enjoy one of these boozy concoctions while watching the race!

Belmont Jewel – The Belmont Stakes

Last up is the youngest of the Triple Crown cocktails, served up in honor of the oldest of the three races. The Belmont Jewel was first created in 2011 — nearly 150 years after the race was first held — but it doesn’t have the distinction of being the Belmont Stakes’ first signature drink! In fact, the race had two other signature drinks until the Belmont Jewel was introduced as a simpler version of its predecessors.

To make a Belmont Jewel, add one and a half ounces of bourbon, two ounces of lemonade, and one ounce of pomegranate juice to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake it up, and strain over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge, orange zest, or cherry, and serve it up!

Want to enjoy this drink while taking in this historic racing event? Book one of our Belmont Stakes travel packagestoday!

Azalea – The Masters Tournament

One of our favorite and most exclusive golf events to take travelers to also features a seriously refreshing cocktail as its unofficial signature drink. Each year attendees celebrate the Masters Tournament with the Azalea, a fruity drink perfect for enjoying the spring weather and world-class golf.

This famous cocktail is as easy to make as it is to drink. Simply mix one part lemon juice, two parts vodka or gin, one part pineapple juice, and a splash of grenadine to give it its signature pink color. Mix it up and either serve it individually or keep a large pitcher in the fridge for a group gathering.

Want to enjoy your own while experiencing one of golf’s most important days up close and personal? There’s still time to book one of our 2023 Masters Tournament travel packages!

Pit Lane Lemonade – The Indianapolis 500

Traditionally held over Memorial Day weekend, the Indianapolis 500 is one of the first sporting events of summer — and it doesn’t get more summery than its signature cocktail, the Pit Lane Lemonade.

This drink is comprised of one ounce of limoncello, one ounce of vodka, and three ounces of lemonade shaken with ice and poured into a highball glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon, and enjoy!

If enjoying one of these along with 325,000 other racing fans at Indianapolis Motor Speedway sounds like a great way to kick off summer, reserve your Indy 500 travel package today!

No matter what your drink of choice, Superior Executive Services can help you create an unforgettable travel experience with world-class hospitality. See our full event lineup here, and contact our team today online or at 608.665.9070 to get started!

Avoid these corporate travel mistakes with the help of Superior Executive Services.

4 Corporate Travel Mistakes You Might Be Making

Solve these common missteps with Superior!

Planning and executing a corporate travel retreat for your team or your clients is no small feat; you’ll have to take into account travel logistics, lodging, food and beverages, any special events your group would like to attend, create and plan for team bonding activities, transportation around your venue, and more. Whew — that’s a lot to keep track of!

With so many different moving parts to plan and the hassle of scheduling activities for such a large group, there are bound to be mistakes or mishaps on your trip. That’s not a great look when you’re trying to win over clients! We’ve compiled a list of the top corporate travel mistakes we usually see companies make, and how to avoid them.

The most common corporate travel mistakes to be aware of are:

  1. Planning on short notice
  2. Mistakes in itineraries or reservations
  3. Overscheduling activities
  4. Transportation troubles

If you’re ready to get into these common missteps (and find the solution), let’s get started.

Planning on short notice

The first common corporate travel mistake is booking too late. Just like your personal travel, you’ll have more options for your business travel when you book earlier. Booking well in advance is especially important when you have a large group of people!

When you’re traveling with a large corporate group or a selection of current or potential clients, you want to be able to have the best seating options, restaurant reservations, and more. Booking at least six months in advance ensures that those locations can accommodate a larger group flawlessly.

Mistakes in itineraries or reservations

Your company may not have a designated person whose full-time job is booking travel for your company, clients, or potential clients. This means you don’t have an expert creating your hotel reservations, booking your event or activity tickets, or making dinner plans, so those responsibilities fall to you. We’re all human, and mistakes can happen, especially when someone doesn’t create these large plans every week or has other work to handle! Incorrect reservations are the most common corporate travel mistake we see, so we highly recommend booking with an expert team like Superior to avoid any snafus!

Overscheduling activities

Another error is overscheduling activities for your team or clients; many people think that booking wall-to-wall events or activities is the way to go on a business trip. While it’s true you should maximize your time, there is such a thing as booking too many events and burning out your team or clients! Making sure you have some downtime and time to travel between locations is important. At Superior, we have decades of travel planning experience and understand how to create a custom itinerary that works for your team.

Transportation troubles

Finally, getting to and from your hotel, events, and restaurants can be a hassle if you don’t book private transportation in advance. You’ll be trying to find enough ride-shares or taxis for your large group, split everyone up, and deal with traffic — it can become a mess, quickly. Making sure all transportation is handled in advance (like with a private driver provided by Superior) is a small detail that can show if you’ve really thought through all the small things for your clients.

How you can fix these corporate travel mistakes

A great, easy, and convenient way to combat all of these common errors is to use a corporate travel agency like Superior Executive Services. When you work with Superior, you’ll be getting a team that is dedicated and experienced at planning large corporate trips that will run without a hitch! We will schedule your activities, events (with VIP tickets and premium hospitality), private transportation, and more.

If you’re tired of having these corporate travel mistakes hanging over your head, reach out to our team today! We can create a customized itinerary to one of these world-class events for your team or clients or help you plan an entirely custom travel experience.

If you have a Superior package for either one of these events, talk with our team to add a round of golf or two before or after your event — we’d be happy to help create the perfect add-on golf day to your vacation.

Visit a spa

If rest and relaxation are more your speed, try a spa day! It would be the perfect ending to your trip to relax and unwind after the busy weekend. Arizona has many luxury spas to choose from that are sure to impress with their stunning views of the desert and customizable treatment options. Check out this list of various spa options in the Phoenix area!

Venture on a hike or bike ride

If you’re looking for a more physical adventure, a hike or bike ride could be perfect for you or your group! Arizona has plenty of paths and scenic views that are sure to wow. Just make sure you bring plenty of water! Hiking and biking are one of the most popular things to do in Arizona (second to golfing, or course!) and can provide a different experience than you’d get from just driving around Phoenix. If you’re looking for a full list of things to try outdoors, check out this list and let our Superior team know which adventure you’d like to take on!

Tour a winery/distillery/tasting room

Arizona is home to quite a few different breweries and wineries; in fact, over 60 wineries call Arizona home! However, many of these are well outside of Phoenix and can be tricky to get to. That’s why you should check out a tasting room! Many places have small, local restaurants or locations where you can try these delicious drinks without needing to drive all the way to the actual vineyard itself. Visiting one of these local places is top of our list of best things to do in Arizona as an add-on to your travel package!

Visit a museum or historical site

Phoenix is full of historical sites and interesting things to see, that’s for sure! If you want to experience the true flavor of the area, consider checking out some of their most popular sites. Taliesin West was built by the famous Frank Lloyd Wright; tours are available so you can get up close to this iconic home. There’s also the Musical Instrument Museum, Desert Botanical Gardens, Phoenix Art Museum, and more if you want to explore the history, culture, and art of the area. Check out this list for more details!

As you can see, there are tons of things to do in Arizona while you’re in the Phoenix area enjoying the Waste Management Open or the Super Bowl. It’s going to be a busy weekend

The Super Bowl attracts, on average, 60,000 to 80,000 spectators inside the venue each year. That’s a lot of people, and it doesn’t count the fans that are just tailgating or even the event staff and crews needed to pull off such a large production. It’s a big deal! Be prepared for increased traffic and allow yourself plenty of time to get to and from each venue.

No really, it’s going to be VERY busy!

If the Super Bowl alone wasn’t enough for you, the Waste Management Phoenix Open is going on the exact same weekend! This means two things; one, the Phoenix metro is going to be bursting with excitement, events, and people that weekend, so things can get crowded, and two, if you haven’t already, consider adding a day at the WM Open to your Super Bowl packages!

Double-check your restaurant reservations

Hopefully, you’ve had any restaurant reservations for Super Bowl weekend made for a while now (or better yet, you had our team make them for you). Because reservations are going to be hard to come by this weekend, especially for large groups, we recommend double-checking the details before you go.  If you are still in need of restaurant reservations for your group, we’re happy to help as much as we can. But with two major events taking place in one location, you may have to temper your expectations or come up with a Plan B at this point!

Pack and plan for the climate

The Super Bowl this year is in Arizona in February, which has an average temperature of 61°F degrees for that time of year. It can be as cool as 50°F or as warm as 70°F, but you’ll know a bit closer to the event weekend what to expect. Pack for your comfort level and bring layering options — the roof at State Farm Stadium can be opened or closed, so depending on what they decide to do, you could be a bit warm or chilly!

Know the bag policies at the event center

At this venue, they recommend not bringing a bag at all, but they do mandate that any bags are 12x6x12 inches or smaller. Other stadiums or venues are different, so if you’re checking on this for a different venue or for future Super Bowl packages, check out this blog for more tips and tricks on bag policies.

Check out other things to do in Arizona

Don’t let the end of the Super Bowl be the end of your fun! There are plenty of great things to do outside of your group’s Super Bowl packages; check out a day at the Waste Management Open, go for a golf day of your own, visit a brewery or distillery, or check out this list of things to do in Phoenix.
