The 74th Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance takes place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, on the iconic 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Links. This annual event, translated to “Competition of Elegance” in English, draws car enthusiasts from all over the world to appreciate some of the finest collector automobiles ever built.

Appropriate Attire
As you might guess, attire for the Concours d’Elegance is just as grand as the cars themselves. With average August temperatures in the 70s (and dipping into the 50s in the evening), you’ll be comfortable in dress slacks and a collared shirt. A blazer is optional, but you’ll see many.
For ladies, a sundress and light sweater will work well. You’ll also see many attendees donning fascinators and vintage-inspired hats (or even full outfits) from bygone eras. The people-watching is almost as much fun as the car viewing.
Comfortable Shoes
You’ll likely do a fair amount of walking throughout the day, so make sure you bring shoes that are both comfortable and broken in. If you do get a blister, have some bandaids and perhaps an extra pair of socks on hand. The show field is on grass, so avoid stilettos or anything with thin heels.
Rain Gear
Even in August, the weather along the Monterey Peninsula can be chilly and foggy. You should be prepared for a midday shower with a lightweight rain jacket and packable umbrella. Layers are your best friend on the California coast.
